The USDA Menu Planner is free of charge and helps motivate individuals and families to make healthier food choices. It gives you an easy way to know whether you are losing or gaining weight based on what you plan to eat. And it helps you plan upcoming meals.

The Menu Planner is useful to those interested in healthful and nutritious diets, high school and middle school classes, and dietitians, health professionals, and nutrition educators for use in counseling and educational programming.

New NRF Coalition Resources

The newly expanded and enhanced “For Health Professionals” section of www.NutrientRichFoods.org is now live and includes new information and resources from the NRF Coalition to educate health professionals and nutrition educators on the NRF approach and to equip them with fresh tools for helping their patients and clients understand how to get more nutrition from their calories by eating nutrient-rich foods. 

New and/or updated materials available on the “For Health Professionals” section of www.NutrientRichFoods.org include:

·         Teaching tools (http://www.nutrientrichfoods.org/for_health_professionals/teaching_tools.html) for health professionals and nutrition educators to use with patients and clients, and to share with their peers in the nutrition and health community. 

o   Food Groups Weekly Tracker provides a way for people to track their nutrient-rich foods achievements as they strive to meet the MyPyramid food group recommendations

o   Nutrient-Rich Shopping List puts nutrient-rich foods and beverage ideas at their patients’ and clients’ fingertips.

 

·         Achieve Better Health with Nutrient Rich Foods Resource Guide (http://www.nutrientrichfoods.org/for_health_professionals/resource_guide.html), which provides a look at the science and consumer research behind the NRF approach, and includes information on other helpful nutrient-rich foods communications resources.
